Menai Bridge Urban District Council was set up in 1895 and served the Town until 1974 when the new Town Council replaced it.
The Town Council is served by 13 Councillors, 2 County Councillors and 3 Officers, a Town Clerk, Admin Assistant and Groundsman. The Town Council has an elected Town Mayor chosen every May during the Annual General Meeting.
